Vegan Spaghetti Sauce: this sauce is filled with flavour and spicy AF (JK)
Ingredients
- 1 can of tomato sauce
- 3 tomatoes diced, fresh (roma variety)
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cayenne pepper, finely chopped **
- 1 onion, medium sized chopped
- 1/8 cup fresh herbs (parsley, basil, thyme) **
- 1 1/2 cup of cooked farro
- 1/2 cup of cooked barley
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- Prep all your mise-en-place
- In sauce pan, over medium heat, add chopped cayenne pepper and garlic until caramelized
- Add onions and tomatoes
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper (to taste)
- Sauté until soft and add the cooked farro and barely
- Make sure the grains are coated in the oil
- Add tomato sauce to the saucepan and let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes
- Add fresh herbs
- Plate over gluten free pasta or veggie pasta
