Hometown: Toronto

Where do you work?

I am an independent music producer and singer-songwriter. I’m always in my mini home studio trying to create sound prints that are familiar yet progress from the current musical box, but most importantly are authentic to me.

What do you love about your job/workplace?

Being brought up in a musical household, music has always been my heart and soul. Creating music allows me to narrate my truths and will be an ever-growing challenge. That’s something I look forward to every single day when I sit down at my piano. And the fact that I am able to express myself so freely with the support of my family and friends is invaluable.

Why did you pick Toronto as your new home?

Having travelled to different cities all over the world, there is no place like Toronto. I am very lucky to have been born and raised here. The city is always alive and the creativity is abundant. The one thing that I am very grateful for, growing up in the city, is the diversity of cultures which has helped me understand and appreciate the different perspectives outside of my own identity.

How does Toronto influence your brand/ what you do?

As a musician, I find it important to listen to a wide array of music genres and Toronto always showcases that. Being surrounded by this diversity enables me to experiment with my own sound, incorporating elements of these different genres into my work. I find that Toronto is a pretty open-minded city with so much talent and innovation, that inspiration here is endless. It pushes me to keep creating and to strive for something unique.

Favorite Food Spot in Toronto

So tough to choose one spot. I’m always craving sushi, eggs benny, or some type of comfort food. Shout out to Wakame for some bomb, affordable AYCE sushi if you’re ever in North York. Lady Marmalade definitely has some of the best eggs benny in the city. And if you’re ever looking for some amazing mac and cheese, DEQ at The Ritz-Carlton is the spot.
