As an early birthday celebration and Easter holiday, my family and I went to the Bahamas. It was my first time ever going and I was beyond excited. The Bahamas is composed of 700 islands with only 7 of them being habitated.
I stayed in New Providence, which is the capital of the Bahamas. We stayed at the Warwick hotel which is across the port on Paradise Island. The food at the Warwick was amazing and the staff was even better. We felt right at home. We were in walking distance from the Atlantis (where my mom would go and play the slot… card shark?) The Warwick Hotel is rated top 10 in the Caribbean resorts. (ADULTS ONLY? when you are single that is exactly what you want….)

It is when we decided to take the ferry across the water to head to the Fish Fry in Nassau. Before heading there, we went to the Straw Market. Basically everyone and their grandmother in Nassau has a shop in the Straw Market. My attention was directed towards an elderly woman, who was not haggling just simply enjoying her day at the Market.
Her name was Barbara and can I say, she had the face of an angel. Her eyes could tell you a story. I bought a straw purse from her. She made everything at her stall and she most definitely stole my heart. I continued to take pictures of locals on my walk through the city. This was amazing; Bahamians are phenomenal people. They have the joy de vivre. Everyone had a smile on their face (grinning from ear to ear).
After leaving the Bahamas, it became clear to me the true reason behind this trip. It was to enjoy time with my family. Make memories and to see the world for what it truly is.
