NFL Sunday Chilli



Well it’s Sunday and let me tell you – I might be glued to my couch watching football (YES I AM IN A NFL POOL). No flags will be thrown on this recipe…. It will change how you pregame. Prep all the ingredients – turn on your slow cooker and this is a hands free delicious meal. Fully loaded with vegetables and protein.


  • 1 lb cooked ground chicken (cook chicken with garlic and onions until browned)
  • 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 zucchini, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 poblano pepper, diced
  • 1 can trader joe’s fire roasted green chillis
  • 3 cups of water
  • 2 tbsps coriander
  • 2 tbsps cumin
  • 2 tbsps paprika
  • 2 tbsps chilli powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon


  1. Prep all your ingredients (chop, diced, rinse/drain, cook ground chicken)
  2. Add all the ingredients to your slow cooker
  3. Cook on high for 2 hours, or on low for 4-6 hours
  4. Serve with avocado and bread
  5. Optional toppings: avocado, cilantro, fried onions, sour cream, greek yogurt

** If you are vegan or vegetarian, you can opt the ground chicken for some more legumes (chickpeas, kidney beans, navy beans or vegetable ground like Yves veggie cuisine)
