My best friend Genevieve and I haven’t seen each other in over a year. We decided to head back to our alma mater together for the University Sport Rugby National Championship. I decided to write a little guide of the spots we went to while we were visiting.
Alexander Keith’s Brewery
Halifax Municipal Library
While Gen was shopping, I decided to grab a coffee and relax at the Halifax Municipal Library. This work of art is where all Haligonians (from old to young go to hang out/ study and read)
If you want the best cocktails in Halifax, Lot Six is your spot! The bartenders are amazing and highly skilled. Ask for anything and they will make it for you 🙂 OYSTER WERE AMAZING
Genevieve and I reunited with our old university friend Rebecca and Ali for dinner. WOW is all I have to say. The dinner was amazing, the wine even better. North American Food with Italian Soul
Bringing PEI to the city – Gahan House is a top spot for east coast oysters in Halifax. Located on the Halifax boardwalk – this is the perfect spot for those new to the city and wanting a glorious halifax harbourview.
The most eclectic store in Halifax… for your inner hippy/spiritual guru – if you want to buy incense or necklaces with hamsas; this is the place for you. Located in downtown Halifax – this is a go-to spot for a little piece of halifax.
The Wolfville Farmers’ Market is the place to be every Saturday. Make sure to purchase your re-usable bag for when purchasing great produce. The Annapolis valley is known for amazing agriculture, vineyards, apples and delicious food. My favourite booth is the Noodle Guy!
The apples are grown in nearby orchards, pressed into juice down the road, and fermented into cider at the cidery in downtown Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Go for a tour, enjoy a tasting, and tap into the valley.

Take a classic British double-decker bus winery tour around the valley to check out the amazing vineyards that are showcasing Canada’s Best Wines.

- Lightfood and Wolfville
- Domaine de Grand-Pré
- L’Acadie Vineyards
I don’t know how many times I have eaten here but the Library Pub was most definetly a staple in my university diet! Chicken cranberry sandwich, guinness, the Library burger and much much more. Saturdays there’s live music upstairs and the owners are by far the best people you’ll ever meet!
Nova Scotia and Acadia University will always hold a special place in my heart! I will be back in another 3 years to see what has changed! Acadia University is not only a school but it’s a family that you will forever have!
